Sgt. Lenson C. Graves, whose name graces the Smith-Graves American Legion Post in Pageland. Killed in action in 1918 during World War I, Graves is buried in France.

It's not common we see local photos from World War I. This photo, of Frank Brock Sr., is part of a larger feature we will be publishing in a few weeks. Meanwhile, I thought it was appropriate for The Scout. (It's unclear when this photo was taken, but Brock was discharged in 1918.)
